Celebrate and Recreate will be an opportunity for the entire family to enjoy Sumatanga

1/7/2015

On the weekend of March 20-22, 2015, Sumatanga Camp and Conference Center will host an event designed for the entire family called Celebrate and Recreate.

Described as “A jam-packed, fast paced, multigenerational weekend at Sumatanga celebrating the wonder of our past, present and future,” Celebrate and Recreate will be an opportunity for participants of all ages to become familiar with Sumatanga, to make new friends and to get reacquainted with friends made years ago while taking part in times of fellowship, recreation, learning, and worship.

This weekend also coincides with Nina Reeves’ 90th birthday. Nina served as the youth director of the North Alabama Conference for almost 50 years. During that time she led hundreds of events that touched the lives of thousands of youth.  On Saturday evening, March 21, there will be a time to celebrate her life and ministry.

The design team for the event is carefully working to create a weekend that is welcoming and engaging to those who have never been to Sumatanga before and yet familiar to those who grew up at camp.

The weekend retreat will offer a wide variety of activities and programming for children, youth and adults.  There will be activities for families and individuals. Some of the offerings include the following:

  • Hiking
  • Canoeing
