The Society of St. Andrew (SoSA), an Advance Special of the North Alabama Conference, partners with faith groups, secular groups, schools, and individuals, to salvage fresh, nutritious produce from American farms – produce that otherwise would be left to rot – and deliver it to agencies across the nation that serve the poor.
SoSA is offering Advent Devotional booklets and Alternative Christmas Cards to help you and your congregation reclaim the spiritual dimensions of the Advent season this year.
The 2017 Advent Devotional book, Lifting Up the Lowly, is as timely and as relevant as today's news.
Used each year as a spiritual underpinning for Advent by hundreds of congregations of all denominations across the United States, these daily meditations, all new for 2017, are the words of people of faith.
The Advent devotions program offers an opportunity for your congregants to give in support of Society of St. Andrew's feeding ministries, reflecting Jesus' own concern for the least, the last, and the lost. Written by pastors and lay people from all walks of life, each day's devotional offers depth and meaning in our fast-paced world.
When you place your congregation’s order, the Devotional Booklets will be sent to you, in quantity, free of charge, as part of the Society of St. Andrew mission to feed spiritual as well as physical hungers.
You may also download the Advent booklet for your e-reader or subscribe to receive each day's devotion as an email, delivered to your device each morning.

The Society of St. Andrew is a national nonprofit hunger-relief ministry that rescues 25-30 million pounds of fresh, nutritious, excess produce each year that would otherwise go to waste for various marketing reasons. This food is then distributed to critical feeding agencies across the country at no cost to the agencies or the hungry people they serve. More information about the Society of St. Andrew and its hunger-relief programs - Gleaning Network, Potato & Produce Project, and Harvest of Hope is available online at EndHunger.org.
