Annual Conference 2023: Methodist Foundation helps churches do ministry

“We help churches do ministry,” Executive Director of the Methodist Foundation of North Alabama Mike O’Kelley explained during the 2023 North Alabama Annual Conference.

Sitting down for a conversation with Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett, he shared that the Foundation is here to provide resources and educational assistance to all churches in North Alabama. This includes stewardship resources, investment opportunities, as well as, scholarships and grants. One of the main ways they help local churches is to equip them to overcome financial restrictions by better communicating with their congregation to raise money and support their ministry budgets. Specifically, the Foundation has assisted congregations through estate planning, fundraising, stewardship campaigns, growing endowments and administering special funds such as scholarships. They also offer educational resources to help churches develop important administrative policies and procedures.
