The Annual Conference Executive Planning Team is already making preparations for the 2019 North Alabama Annual Conference, which will be held June 2-4, 2019, at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The theme will be "Singing God's Song in New Places with New Faces" as we celebrate the new churches being started and new people being reached across North Alabama.
In preparation for the 2019 Annual Conference session, the Executive Planning Team is inviting ministries, institutions and other groups within the North Alabama Annual Conference to apply to offer a presentation during the Annual Conference session.
"While we would like to give all who desire to present at Annual Conference the opportunity, we ask everyone to join us in prayerful discernment as we focus on new and renewing churches, accomplishing our required tasks and empowering our local churches to share Christ’s love with their communities," says Linda Holland, Director of Connectional Ministries.
Applications will be evaluated by the Annual Conference Production Team, with priority given to presentations requiring action by the Annual Conference as well as presentations that specifically relate to this year's theme.
According to Rev. Andy Curtis, Annual Conference Production Team Leader, "With anticipated business resulting from the called General Conference of 2019, voting for delegates to the 2020 General Conference session, regular Annual Conference business and presentations focused on new and renewing churches, the 2019 North Alabama Annual Conference will be a busy Christian Conferencing event." Rev. Curtis adds that the busyness of the event will require a great deal of focus on the part of both the Planning Team and members of the Conference, and encourages all to be as diligent as we are instructed in the words of John Wesley's Rules for Helpers: "Will you observe the following directions? a) Be diligent…Never trifle away time…b) Be punctual. Do everything exactly at the time."
Those who are interested in making a presentation may submit an application at https://forms.umcna.org/2019-
Additionally, all ministries and institutions are encouraged submit a report to be included in the PreConference Book/Journal Vol. I that is provided to all members of the Annual Conference. Reports should be submitted by February 1, 2019, by emailing the report to email@example.com. Groups may submit a report regardless of whether they are selected to offer a presentation during the Annual Conference session.
