The Northwest District has been blessed by an abundance of children’s books as part of the Bazillion Book Drive – five 18-wheeler trucks full of children’s books, in fact.
In the spirit of connectionalism and the Bazillion Book Drive mission to reach under-resourced children within the North Alabama Conference bounds, the Northwest District is offering to share this abundance with North Alabama churches seeking books to distribute to children in their communities.
There is a time scheduled on Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to noon, for churches to bring volunteers and appropriate transportation to pick up books for their communities at a warehouse in Rogersville.
Groups may arrive anytime between 9 and noon. It is recommended volunteers wear old clothes, because the plastic packaging is dusty. Please bring enough volunteers to help load the amount of books your church will distribute.
There are a variety of titles available. This flyer shows some of the available titles. There are also many educational CD and DVD programs in the mix.
The District notes that it would be helpful if churches contacted them to alert organizers your group is coming. Please email District Superintendent Kelly Clem at firstname.lastname@example.org and specify approximately how many books you need and for what age groups of children.
