Big Sandy UMC is “counting their blessings” during February worship services

February 21, 2018

If we take the time to look, God’s blessings appear all around us, prompting us to pause, reflect and give praise.

Big Sandy UMC (Southwest District) is making it a priority to “count their blessings,” as the congregation observes, reflects upon, and gives God glory for all of the tremendous gifts they have received. During the month of February 2018, Big Sandy UMC is celebrating their blessings during the 10:45 a.m. worship services.

On February 11, the children and youth of the church led the congregation in worship as a part of Children and Youth Sunday,  a special day when the church family celebrates their young people. Pre-K through 12th grade helped to lead the worship service

On February 16-17, Big Sandy UMC had the privilege of welcoming and celebrating Troop 151 during a special Boy Scout Sunday weekend. Troop members, leaders and parents joined the congregation for worship and a time of fellowship. The congregation enjoyed learning about what the scouts do in their community.

On February 24, Big Sandy UMC will center morning worship around a special blessing of their property with a dedication service. Members of the construction team will join the congregation in worship as the congregation thanks God for the fruits of their labor, as well as their time, dedication, and energy given during the completion of the church's building extension.

Pastor Rev. Kris Roberts says, "Big Sandy UMC is blessed to be a part of God’s work in the world, and they hope that God will be glorified through these special February worship services."
