On Nov. 9, 2018, Birmingham First UMC is hosting an an evening with best-selling author Jen Hatmaker and award-winning singer/songwriter Nichole Nordeman from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the church's sanctuary.
Jen is the author of the New York Times bestselling titles Of Mess and Moxie and For the Love. Nichole has sold more than 1 million albums and won 9 GMA Dove Awards, including two for Female Vocalist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
The world is filled with angry voices shouting about our differences. For one evening, Birmingham First UMC invites you to leave the noise behind. You and your friends can treat yourselves to a night out – a reminder that you can laugh at the days to come, soothe your soul, and have strength for whatever lies ahead.
Together, in a night of lively conversation and soulful music the two will consider how to wrangle delight out of the mess of life. They will remind participants that all of the miles along the way matter – all the pain, the tears, the late nights, the questions, and confusion. Over the course of this evening, you will discover you have all the spirit you need for living a courageous, grace-filled life – grace for every mistake and weakness. Grace even for hypocrisy and shame. You will be invited to remember you are not alone.
This inclusive event welcomes everyone to open their hearts and join hands with their neighbors. Tickets for the evening begin at $34 with the opportunity for a $5 discount on each ticket bought in a group of four or more.
