Clergywomen invited to participate in "Sacred Rest and Renewal” cruise in April

January 26, 2022

Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett has commissioned a North Alabama Conference Clergy Care Team. The team is offering supportive initiatives, including scholarship trips to help individuals and couples in ministry spend time away on retreat.

One upcoming initiative is an opportunity for women in ministry. The week following Easter, April 18-22, 2022, clergywomen have an opportunity to retreat together for a five-day/four-night Bahamas “Sacred Rest and Renewal” cruise through Educational Opportunities Tours.

This will be an opportunity for participants to experience an extra measure of self-care during this stressful season for pastors that includes the monumental tasks of retooling ministry skills in response to the pandemic, leading churches in times of uncertainty, caring for their families and tending their own souls. The cruise will offer all participants three days of guided or personal spiritual nurture. It will also be an opportunity to rest, unwind and restore your soul, as well as be in fellowship with friends in ministry.

The cruise pricing starts at $499. Scholarships are available. The registration deadline is February 7.
