Historical Society spring meeting to discuss The Central Jurisdiction, The Central Alabama Conference and the history of St. Paul UMC


The North Alabama Conference Historical Society will hold its Spring Meeting on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at historic St. Paul United Methodist Church in downtown Birmingham. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the program starting at 9:45 a.m. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be served lunch in the church dining hall.

Two outstanding presentations will be made during the morning gathering. Rev. Wylheme Ragland will present a paper on The Central Jurisdiction And The Central Alabama Conference. Laveena Battle will give the History Of St. Paul UMC with particular emphasis on its part in the Civil Rights movement. Her presentation will include a video interview with Rev. Joseph Lowery produced by David Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn will offer instructions for how a church can make such a video highlighting its history.

Attendance is free but the cost of the meal is $10.

Reservations can be made by downloading and completing the registration form and mailing to Caroline Thompson by March 1.
