Disaster Response Training to be offered in August

The Cullman County EMA is hosting a Disaster Response training event on August 16 and 17, 2017. This is open to anyone and everyone interested in disaster response mission.

The training focuses on two key aspects: Donations Management and Volunteer Coordination. These courses will provide useful tools for when the next disaster impacts your city/town/community.

The first part of the training is Volunteer Management. Attendees will gain the skills to establish a local Volunteer Registration Center (VRC). VRC Training will prepare participants to staff VRCs that will register and place spontaneous volunteers in times of disaster. These centers help ensure that volunteers are given meaningful and constructive opportunities to satisfy their desire to assist in a time of need, while not overwhelming the affected community during the disaster response and recovery process.

There is NO costs for this training, but registration is required. Space is limited!

The registration website is: https://servealabama.wufoo.com/forms/wj2zyso0pm2hdd/

The training will take place at the Cullman County Emergency Management Administration offices located at 2020 Beech Ave. SE, Cullman, AL 35056
