Disaster Response Update: Teams needed in Kilmichael, Mississippi

North Alabama Conference Disaster Response Coordinator Rev. Randy Burbank shares the following message he received from the Mississippi Conference.

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ:

There is an immediate need for volunteer teams to assist in the clean up efforts in Kilmichael, Mississippi.

Kilmichael was hit by tornado on April 30 and is a small rural town with little resources. The Mayor has requested help from volunteer organizations to help residents removing storm debris from their private property. There may be some chainsaw work and of course material handling equipment like Bobcats or tractors are always needed.

If you have a team of volunteers that would like to help you may contact Public Works Director John Pearson at 662-417-0572.

If your team needs housing, it is available at Moore Memorial United Methodist Church. Contact the Church at 662-283-3804.  If teams deploy I need them to contact me before deploying.

Grace & Peace
