Kingdom Conference: The Church as Public Witness event will be April 29-30
The Conference Multicultural Ministries Team is hosting an event on April 29-30, 2022, entitled Kingdom Conference: The Church as Public Witness. The purpose of the event is to enlighten and illuminate awareness and concerns about the church’s role and witness in the world today. The event will provide an opportunity to celebrate the ways in which the diversity of the Kingdom has come to the North Alabama Conference through different ethnicities and cultures from around the world.
Participants may take part in the free event in-person at Cove UMC (366 Old Highway 431 Owens Cross Roads AL 35763) or virtually by streaming the event at covechurch.com.
The weekend event will combine worship, plenary sessions, and breakout sessions. All of which have been designed to challenge the church and community to a deeper and fuller vision of God’s Kingdom. The Multicultural Ministries Team seeks to have a shared vision among clergy and laity in the North Alabama Conference to develop commitments to mission, evangelism, discipleship, and justice.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Gregg A. Okesson, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Ira Galloway and D.M. Beeson Chair of Leadership Development, Mission and Evangelism at Asbury Theological Seminary. Breakout sessions will be led by North Alabama Conference leaders and include Dismantling Racism, Serving in a Diverse Setting and Learning from the Stranger.
Registration is now open. For more information visit www.umcna.org/kingdomconference or download the brochure.
