May 3 EVOLVE online learning session designed for churches and leaders who are "meetinged-out"
The next EVOLVE online training will be Tuesday, May 3 at 9 a.m. and will focus on Streamlined Strategic Church Leadership.
Are you tired of unproductive meetings that seem to go on forever? Does your church have more leadership positions than people to fill them? Do meetings occur without ever discussing how ministries align with the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ? Is your church simply “meetinged-out?” If this sounds like your church and you are looking for another way to lead your church more faithfully, more simply and with greater impact, please join others throughout North Alabama for this session of EVOLVE to explore Streamlined Strategic Church Leadership.
The featured presenter is Kay Kotan, the Director of the Center for Equipping Vital Congregations for the Susquehanna Conference of The United Methodist Church. She is a credentialed coach, church consultant, speaker and author. Her book (written with Blake Bradford): Mission Possible provides practical, field-tested steps to simplify your church structure and unleash more people into ministry.
In this overview workshop, you will learn:
- The leadership styles of most churches and how effective they are
- The difference of management and governance through leadership
- How to meet less but be more effective and missionally focused
- How to simplify the four administrative committee functions
- How to offer permission-giving guidelines for day-to-day ministry to occur
- Why accountability must be part of leadership at all levels
- The three phases of simplified, accountable structure
The cost is $49 for individual participants or $99 for a team from your congregation.

Beginning in the fall of 2020, the Bishop and Cabinet, New and Renewing Churches, Multicultural Ministries and the Board of Ordained Ministry have sponsored a series of continuing education opportunities called EVOLVE. These online sessions are designed to provide powerful tools, information, and resources to help the clergy and laity of the North Alabama Conference to courageously lead into a future we cannot yet imagine.
