As we engage in doing ministry with the poor here in the North Alabama Annual Conference, we seek to discover, develop, and deploy young adult spiritual leaders who feel called to serve in under resourced communities.
The 2017 Exploration Internship was a great start for this journey. A wonderful group of young adult interns worked with Birmingham-area ministries and shared a community house for ten weeks. The shared stories, laughter, challenges and glory sightings have made a difference in the lives of many who were served by these young people. The 2017 group included Micah Johnson, Anna May, Kennedy Martin, Tatiana Harrison and Christina Schmitt. Kennedy has continued as an intern at East Lake United Methodist Church.
The journey now continues as the Ministry with the Poor Team looks forward to partnering with QuadW Missional Internship for the 2018 summer internship opportunities for North Alabama young adults.
QuadW Missional Internship Partnership: We have developed a partnership with QuadW Missional Internship. The QuadW Missional Internship provides life-changing mission experience to college-age (19-25) young adults. The 2018 sites will be Anniston and Birmingham. The goal is to have sixteen interns this summer – eight serving in Birmingham and eight in Anniston.
Please help us discover potential young adult interns from within your congregation and ministry contexts. The harvest is plenty, but the labors are few.
