The Native American Ministries Team invites you to participate in a mission trip to Cherokee UMC in Cherokee, North Carolina.
This mission outreach is scheduled for September 12-16, 2016. The cost is $150 per person (includes meals/dorm) and scholarships are available. The main focus of the work will be home repairs and a VBS. Anyone age 14 and over can serve in some way – you don’t have to do repairs to participate!
The deadline to register and to pay by check is September 2, 2016. (Cash only accepted after check deadline!)

Where will we stay?
There is a women’s dorm (sleeps 26) and a men’s dorm (sleeps 22) at the Cherokee Mission site (all twin-size beds.
What about meals?
The mission team will cook our own meals in the modest church kitchen and dining area.
What do we bring?
Personal Items: Sleeping bag or linens, pillow, towels, toiletries, work clothes with closed toe shoes, bible, notebook, pen, tools, etc.
Each Group: First Aid kit, anti-bacterial hand wipes, insect repellent, sun screen, work gloves for each person, camera, claw hammer for each person, water bottle for each person
Suggested Group Repair Tools: Wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, socket set, tape measures, pencils, (1) circular saw, (2) drills, sand paper/sander, (2) painting trays, scrapers, bucket, rollers, brushes, crowbar, wrecking bar, knee pads, sawzaw, ladder, shovel, rake, saw horse kit, (2) extension cords, wasp spray, hand saw, (2) 3 prong adaptor plugs, needle nose pliers, square, level, masking tape, utility knife, putty knife, chalk line with chalk, staple gun/ staples, drop cloths, safety goggles, dust masks, trash bags, metal file, tin snips, cleaning rags, bottle of cleaner, scouring pad, dust pan and broom, caulking gun, ice chest for food at work sites, large water cooler and cups for work sites for group for week.
VBS Team (1 evening)
The team will lead a craft and lesson for children and young people Wednesday evening. Other days will be spent assisting other teams.
Food Coordinator
Will plan and purchase the food for the team and contribute to the pot luck on Wednesday night.
