Union Chapel UMC celebrates 160 years in ministry

On Sunday, October 20, 2019, Union Chapel UMC in Cordova (Central District) celebrated its 160th birthday.

In preparation for the big day, the church Trustees readied the fellowship hall and grounds for guests and the ladies of the church prepared a covered dish meal. 

There were more than 60 persons in worship including several former and retired pastors. They included former pastors Douglas Ferguson and Wanda Banks and retired pastor Rev. Charles Black and his wife. Union Chapel UMC is Bro. Charles' home church.  

After the worship service and meal, participants joined in a singing led by Paul Gunter, Ronnie Sanders and Sonny Hall of "EverPraiseSing." 

By the end of the celebration, there were a total of 62 participants who signed the guest book.
