4/21/2021

The World Methodist Council 22nd World Methodist Conference will be held August 10-14, 2022, in Gothenberg, Sweden. Youth and young adults are invited to participate in this global gathering of the Methodist-Wesleyan family representing the 134 member countries and 80 denominations of Methodists and Uniting Churches. The Conference, held every five years in a different part of the world, will include more than 2,000 people with a diversity of gender, age, and laity/clergy. It will be an opportunity to be in community with a global representation of Methodism; to network, learn, be energized and inspired by a diversity of talents and cultures; to hear high-profile speakers; and worship with people from around the world.

Young adults between the ages of 18 and 35 are invited to apply for scholarship funds from the Council which will cover lodging expenses (paid directly to the hotel). The scholarship application is available at this link and should be submitted directly to the World Methodist Council using the instructions on the form.

If selected for a scholarship from the Council, the North Alabama Conference will provide an additional $1,000 in funding to assist with other costs such as transportation. The participant is responsible for any additional expenses.

The application deadline to the World Methodist Council is September 31, 2021. Questions about the application should be directed to Jackie Bolden at jackiebolden@worldmethodistcouncil.org. Questions about funding from the North Alabama Conference should be directed to Rev. John Fleischauer at john.fleischauer@umcna.org.
