Applications open for the 2020 North Alabama Annual Conference Youth, Young Adult and Wesley Foundation Convocations and Page Program
The Office of Connectional Ministries and Leadership Development has successfully collaborated with the District Offices for the past four Annual Conferences to increase the investment toward the participation of young people in the life of the North Alabama Annual Conference. This participation of young people at the Annual Conference meeting has grown the ability of young leaders to serve in other areas of the Church as well. More young people are participating on Conference teams and committees, while they have learned more about the polity and procedures of the United Methodist Church.
The Office of Connectional Ministries and Leadership Development are continuing to take steps in discovering, developing, and deploying young leaders. Two opportunities are listed below.
Applications for Youth, Young Adult, and Wesley Foundation Members to Annual Conference Open Now
Youth (ages 12-18) and young adults (ages 18-30) are invited to apply to be a Young People’s Ministries (YPM) Member to Annual Conference.
Potential YPM Members should apply by August 31, 2019. Once applications close, district lists will be sent to the district offices and two youth and two young adults will be chosen to represent each district. Decisions will be announced by September 15, 2019.
To apply to be a member of the Youth, Young Adult, or Wesley Foundation Convocations to Annual Conference, please visit https://na-reg.brtapp.com/2020YPMtoAC.
Once again, the Page Program is a way that young people can be involved in the process of Annual Conference and to learn more about Church Leadership. The Page Application is an additional position someone applying for YPM Membership can consider.
Pages will have the opportunity to work alongside Annual Conference staff and volunteers and learn how different elements of Annual Conference work, from worship and production to logistics and registration and everything in between. They will also have the opportunity to participate in respective youth or young adults convocation experiences (with the exception of voting). Those applying to be pages should have completed tenth grade to graduating college seniors. Pages will be chosen by October 15, 2019, and notified by October 20, 2019.
Applications to the page program are available at https://na-reg.brtapp.com/2020YPMtoAC.
