Continuing as a Member of The United Methodist Church


If you want to remain a United Methodist after your local church disaffiliates, you can and we are excited to continue in ministry with you!

There are two ways you can remain a United Methodist in North Alabama:

1. You may transfer your membership to another local United Methodist Church.

You may also contact your District office and they will be happy to assist you.
 

2. You may transfer your membership to your District’s Membership Roll.

If you haven’t identified a new church home, you can remain a United Methodist by moving your membership to the District. Contact your District office if you have questions.

The North Alabama Conference is committed to starting new United Methodist ministries and communities of faith, especially in areas that may be without a UMC presence after church disaffiliations.
